Our featured Dive Operators covering Tongatapu and ‘Eua are MV Cape Baron - Whale Rider Charters, for a full Liveaboard Marine Adventure & Deep Blue Diving for land based diving trips situated on the main island of Tongatapu.

 

Whilst you will see that some of the dives described below are for experienced divers, Deep Blue Diving offer Dive Courses from Novice to Upgrades.

 

Cape Baron & Deep Blue Diving are the only licensed operation for Diving around ‘Eua, so you are guaranteed exclusive spots and many of the dives on offer were discovered by the owners (Herbert & Sophie Keller) and remain a well kept secret!

“The Cathedral”  Just recently discovered off the island of ‘Eua

Tonga’s marine life is alive and flourishing and the spectacles are as breathtaking as they are varied.

Here are a few of the dive sites available around Tongatapu & ‘Eua…

 

Cathedral
A breathtaking experience. This is Tonga’s biggest single cave with an amazing  lightshow and marine life with access to a neighbouring cave it has stunning visibility which is never less than 30 meters. The Entrance is at 21 meters, average depth 18 meters, deepest point 27 meters.

 

Tuna Hole
A cave with a big chimney (diameter approx. 10 meter) entrance at  27 meters. Look up and see big Dogtooth Tuna and all the various marine life cruising the chimney and the covering corals.  A beautiful & colorful reef leads you back to the boat for an easy end to the dive.

 

Shark Nose
This dive is only for experienced divers. An underwater peak drops from 30 meters down to approx. 100 meters. Strong currents bring schools of Blacktale, Barracudas and occasionally, Oceanic White Tip and Tiger sharks
At 40 meters there is a huge Arch.

Heaven of Corals
An unbelievably beautiful reef with a coral forest, directly on the edge of an abyss. Drop off is an average depth of 17 meters. The crystal visibility allows you to see the coral fields reaching down to 50 meters and more. Depth flexible, average 17 meters

 

Duff Reef
A submerged reef for experienced divers. At a depth of 30 meters, Gorgonian fans cover the area of a soccer field with abundant marine life (especially big fish). Hammerheads are seen regularly at this spot. Depth flexible; average 20 meters, deepest point 39 meters

 

House of canyons
A striking reef, covered with soft and hard corals and marine life. Easy to dive, with a lot of small open canyons and overhangs. Ideal for a relaxing, enjoyable dive. Also perfect for snorkel enthusiasts. Reef top is at 3 meters, average 15 meters, deepest point 25 meters
